Rexona Run 2010: My second 10k experience
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under Events, Health & Fitness, Sports
So I ran my second 10 kilometers..
The Rexona Run 2010 was held at SM mall of Asia, Philippines last Saturday August 1, 2010. This was my second 10 kilometer run after 5 months. My first run was the Century Tuna Superbods Run and it was a great experience for me. I had troubles before that race but enjoyed every minute of it. I went home late and had only two hours of sleep before the race but still manage to finish the race. This time is a lil bit different experience. I wasn’t prepared and wasn’t confident. Why? because I was lack of training, I didn’t ran much before the race and rainy season has already started here in our country so I had less time to train, but thank goodness the sun smiled at us during the race.
I was in a bit panic. I alarmed my cellphone and alarm clock at 2:30 am so I can do my preparation early because the race venue is quite far from our place. I woke up when I heard the alarm and asked my self, why did I set the alarm at 2:30 am? Then went back to sleep. (Damn! I forgot that I have a race) Around 4:00 am someone was calling on my cellphone. It was Pade, my running buddy for the day. Pade asked me if I’m going to run. (Now I remember) Of course (continue reading…)

But Floyd Jr. haven’t responded yet to Bob Arum’s proposal.
Everyone is still assuming a Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather matchup is on later this year. Pacqquiao and Mayweather both scored victories over this year over Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosley, respectively. Manny Pacquiao is “all in”, He’s agreed on what they’re demanding(random blood test) and just waiting to hear from Floyd Mayweather. “We are ready to go on Mayweather fight,” Arum said. But Mayweather is still undecided whether or not to fight this year. For whatever reason only the Mayweather camp can answer. (continue reading…)
Marathon Training Tips
by admin on Jul.16, 2010, under Events, Health & Fitness, Sports
Marathon is a fast growing sport not just here in the Philippines but all over the world. The Marathon as we know it today is little more than 100 years old, but there have been forms of long distance races since the time of the ancient Egyptians.
The Marathon has been an Olympic distance since the modern Olympics started in 1896, but nothing like it was ever seen in the ancient Olympics, run from 776BC to 261AD. The longest race then was less than 5km. The Marathon was adopted as a central part of the modern Olympic progamme, and takes place in countless cities all over the world today, purely because of its popular appeal to the imagination.
Three weeks from now I’ll be participating in marathon and I want to share my training routine and some tips before joining a marathon. (continue reading…)

The African boxing superstar believes that Pound-for-pound king won’t easily knock him out. In his interview with fight-news.com Clottey stated that he has a good chin. “I have a good chin, We (African fighters) take a lot of punches, but I have an iron chin. I never expect myself to get knocked out. I never expect that.”
Clottey is expected to be heavier and stronger after the weigh-in, and will poses more power during the fight. As a defensive fighter, Clottey believe that Pacquiao can’t hurt him much.
